P. 90
Now, when you know that you have to work very hard in future, and
you are also aware that you are not doing it at present, then let me
tell you, you are not getting ready for future. Who will believe that
you are getting ready for future? Why are you not preparing for your
future right now? When you have to work hard for 10 to 12 hours
every day then why not start today?
If you do so, there will be two specific benefits. If you work equally
hard right now then you will achieve your targets much sooner, and
after reaching your destination you will find that you are already
ready for the journey ahead. You will not have any problem in
adjusting to new environments. The competition will remain intense
for promotion, but you will feel more confident and relaxed as
compared to others. The only trouble in following this routine is that if
you are at home then it will be difficult for you to stick to it, but if you
manage to follow it, you will not only be able to study well right now
but will also be prepared for the challenges ahead.
The problem is that we are not used to working hard, and it is not
even easy to develop this habit because at home there is no one
who makes us strictly follow it. We are under no compulsion. An
officer working in a bank, or someone in the armed forces, has no
freedom to check his phone whenever he wants to. He cannot chat
with his friends, check the laptop, or even go to bed whenever he
wants to.
Remember: If working hard is an option, you will never work hard.
Working hard should be your only way.
A person who has a job would want to lie down or take rest once in a
while, but he cannot do so because he has to work continuously. No
excuse comes to your rescue when you are on the job—you are
obliged to keep on working. It is your ‘job’ after all. If you are working
in the bank, you do not have any other option but to return to your
desk after lunch; you know that a long queue of customers is waiting
for you. If you can bring in such restrictions into your daily life (even
