EPIC - STEM Program
EPIC Capstone (Scientific Engineering Research II): The EPIC capstone experience is a project, senior
exhibition, or multifaceted assignment that serves as a culminating academic and intellectual experience for
students. Students will select topics, professions, social problems, services, or products that interest them. The
course allows students to demonstrate their ability to synthesize and apply the knowledge and skills acquired in
the EPIC program to real-world issues and problems. These final projects should affirm students' ability to think
critically and creatively, to solve practical problems, to make reasoned and ethical decisions, and to
communicate effectively. Students are required to complete a research paper, a portfolio, secure a mentor, and
present their capstone project to a panel. Completion of a capstone project is a component of Georgia STEM
certification and an excellent opportunity for EPIC students to uniquely show their talents.
* This course counts as a 4th-year science course. Approval required.
