MEET THE STAFF:

Shane Indeglia

Reference Librarian

A Plymouth local all his life, Shane
took a part-time job in circulation
at the PPL while pursuing his
Master’s degree in Library
Science. He fell in love with this
institution and has worked his
way up to the Reference Librarian
position. Plymouth Public Library
honors the myriad methods of
learning in every aspect of its
design. This resonates all over the Library, from the high
schooler hunting down facts and figures for a report
to genealogists exploring the vast historical archives
to Shane bringing his classroom theories to real-world
practice.

There’s more to a library than the books and
computers -- even in the Reference section. Shane knows
that the role of a good librarian, and a good library in
general, is “being an information hub… Making sure we
provide outreach and understanding of what’s going
on in the community. Our job, then, is to make the
information publicly accessible for everyone.” Providing
information and education to the people of Plymouth
is key to giving this community its strongest future, and
Shane is glad to be part of it.
