mainly by lecture, draft a lesson plan. Outline the con-
tent you will present in one column, and say what stu-
dents will be doing in another column. List the examples
you will use and any practice items that will be needed to
teach students how to recognize competent performance
of the objective. Make sure that students are active
(doing something other than listening or taking notes)
during at least two-thirds of the instructional period.
7. Regardless of the delivery system used to present the
instruction to the students, be sure to include the direc-
tions that will tell them what to do. Include directions
such as:
• View videotape V-34.
• Check your answers on the next page.
• Click on the best response.
• Have an instructor review your findings.
• Read pages __________ before practicing.
• Get the performance check and do what it says.
• Ask an instructor to set up the equipment so that you
can demonstrate your mastery of the objective.
• When you need an instructor, click on the black icon.
• Complete the following practice exercise.
• Ask another student to fill out Checksheet W as you
conduct the practice interview.
