MODULE CHECKLIST
Use this checklist to assure that your modules include all the
components they need for facilitating the performance you want.
DOES THE MODULE:
1. Have a title or label?
2. Show the student the objective in terms
he or she can understand?
3. Describe what the student will have to do
to demonstrate competence?
4. Describe or illustrate the place or relevance
of the objective in the larger scheme of things
(if needed)? From the student’s point of view?
5. Demonstrate or show what the student will
be like when performing the objective (if
demonstration is needed)?
6. Prepare the student to practice?
7. Include relevant practice of the objective?
8. Provide the tools, items, objects needed
for relevant practice?
9. Provide relevant feedback for the practice?
10. Practice what it teaches? Is it free of modeling
errors?
11. Show trainees exactly what to do or where to
go at each point in the module? i.e., are there
adequate directions?
12. Help trainees decide when they are ready to
demonstrate their competence?
13. Use the simplest possible delivery system?
14. Flow from beginning to end? Does it have
continuity?
15. Contain no unnecessary obstacles between
the student and the learning?
16. Have a criterion test and associated
self-evaluation (feedback)?
