it was Father himself who was then, Rector at Vettikattiri, who
accompanied us to Abohar. He was the Provincial delegate for
our canonical entry to novitiate. By then he had become an in-
separable part of our batch with his constant accompaniment
and guidance.
He was not so much a man of words but his deeds communi-
cated what he wanted to speak. His life had ever remained an
open book to learn the lessons of life. At this time of his depar-
ture we feel we are stolen of something most valuable and nev-
er irreversible. Of course, he is no more but still we bear him
within ourselves or better say we wish, we bear him within, not
just in memories but in the good qualities, habits, dispositions,
and values pertaining to seminarians and priests which he al-
ways tried to impart to us. I am sure that it is not an isolated
case with our batch. If I am not mistaken, there would be no
batch currently under formation or recently ordained that has
not been to his art of formation.
Dear friends, Father Benny is a possibility, a possibility that
can be achieved in our lives. The qualities that made his life
worth constitute the path to its actualization. May his life be
a benchmark in our religious-priestly life. May the spirit and
zeal of our beloved Father inspire all of us to action. Let us seek
his intercession on all our mission endeavors that may his sup-
plications bring God’s blessing and His mercy to our Province
and to the entire humanity.
