from his calligraphic techniques. He also develops new calligraphic
techniques and incorporates the traditions of calligraphy and seal
engraving into his paintings, noting the connection and agreement
between calligraphy and painting. He expresses the forms of trees
and flowers in thick black ink lines, creating dynamically represented
abstractions in ink. The objects in his paintings are highly reduced
and abstracted through dramatic brush marks. Some images are
created by condensing brush traces when a wide range of ink tones
are used. Viewers are inspired by natural shapes that represent the
mind and spirit. His works also convey connotative expressions,
such as a pine tree soaring like a wriggling dragon, a bamboo
standing upright with a few sharp leaves, or a flower with only a few
petals or exuberantly spreading leaves. His work oscillates between
concrete natural objects and abstractions. In his paintings, figurative and abstract images coexist, and objects and poetic sentences
describing the objects are in harmony with each other. His work is considered both a picture to see and a scene to read.

The objects depicted in his paintings appear as connotative images extracted from reality. The uniqueness of his reduced and
simplified images and attractive figuration is central to his painting. The power of his work seems to derive from his representation
of universal and familiar subject matter, which provides a background for forging his own literati style.

Ha's paintings stem from improvisatory and intuitive lines. He extends the scope of ink wash painting's expressive techniques
by dramatizing the subject as much as possible, treating the methodology like abstraction while staying faithful to the tradition
of literati painting. In addition, poetry plays a significant role in his work. A poem is a tool for literary men to express their inner
thoughts, a common means of communication, and a medium and device for artists to represent their artistic conceptions. Poetry,
calligraphy, and painting are not individual and independent, but are mutually fused, mingled, and integrated in traditional literati
painting. It is said that if the energy of books and the scent of letters come out of an artist's body, their art will be highly dignified
