and unworldly. Ha makes it possible to comprehend a topical poem
through Hangeul calligraphy, extending the arena of his work's intent
and appreciation through the medium of poetry and sentences
familiar to viewers. His work actively promotes a certain state brought
about by the harmony between letters and pictures, as well as literary
            content and visual images.

Ha still paints the ideals of the Four Gracious Plants, relying on natural
objects. He tries to unveil emotions through an appropriation of
landscapes, which in turn reveals an artistic conception. He also
captures a certain moment of a natural living thing, which discloses its
own true nature, untrammeled by time. In addition, he appropriates
a single flower or tree, depicting it as large. He believes that the
mysterious principles and phenomena of nature and the universe
are inherent in this subject matter. The world he pictures through a
single flower or bamboo leaf is infinite. He tries to attain a figuration of
what he encountered at the heart of this object or what he gained by
communing with Mother Nature's primordial life force. Thus, he values
the psychological reaction that occurs when one reaches the level of
mental purity and feels one with nature, stressing a clear emotional
examination. What he ultimately pursues is his own inner spiritual flow
through nature, which is an extension of the literati painting tradition
in which one’s will is dependent on natural objects. He tries to explore
vitality rather than looking for from and resemblance. As all things are
incarnations of spiritual energy, it is natural for all things to radiate spiritual energy, and it is entirely up to the artist how to express
it. He puts emphasis on the use of ink, brush technique, and bone method to represent this. In addition, Oriental ink wash painting
