               “Thinking Globally: Sustainable Goals in the 4th
                                      Industrial Revolution”



                 With the success of the International Research
       Conference’s first day, Southville International School

       and  Colleges  continued  on  the  last  day  of  the  event
       savouring  the  same  vision  and  theme:  “Thinking
       Globally:  Sustainable  Goals  in  the  4th  Industrial
       Revolution”. It aims not just to present various studies
       from  different  fields  and  professions  but  to  further
       educate the delegates within the said conference.
                                                                                Introduction of the event

                 The second day of the event was also facilitated by Ms. Michelle Sto. Tomas, a research
       associate of SISC, as she has smoothly managed the day one. As the day had started with SISC
       invocation,  this  was  further  stabilized  but  the  delightful  welcoming  of  Dr.  Melva  Diamante,
       President  of  Southville  International  School  Affiliated  with  Foreign  Universities,  with  her
       undying inspirational message. After which, Prof. Carmelita A. Villegas, Dean of the School of
       Nursing  -  SISC,  introduced  the  keynote  speaker,  Mr.  John  Garrity  (Author,  UN  Broadband
       Commission for Sustainable Development Annual Report and Chief of Party, USAID-BEACON,
       USA).  Mr.  Garrity  then  presented  his  research  entitled  as  "The  Contribution  of  Digital
       Connectivity to Achieving the SDGs, and the Obstacles Present." He further discussed SDG no.
       9  on  the  significance  of  communications  technology  to  be  able  to  provide  universal  and

       affordable access to the internet, where he tackled how connectivity has buffered the impact
       of  COVID-19,  the  adjustment  and  transition  from  analog  to  digital  along  with  its  comorbid
       crisis and aids. After he had shared his wisdom and answered questions, Dr. Ma. Felma C. Tria,
       College Director of SISC, presented the e-certificate as appreciation on behalf of everyone for
       Mr. Garrity’s valuable time and the extent of his knowledge and experience about the topic.
       This was followed by a screen break and gentle reminder on the protocols that everyone is set
       to follow.
