• The annual amount you choose to defer will be divided by the number of
pay periods available in the current plan year. Payroll deductions will begin
after your enrollment is processed, and contributions will be credited to
your Dependent Care Account (administered by Health Equity / WageWorks).
• You pay for the bill from your day care center or other dependent
care provider. You then file your claim and applicable receipts with
Health Equity / WageWorks for reimbursement. You will receive
reimbursement directly from Health Equity / WageWorks.
• Grace Period rules: Due to legislation related to the pandemic, all unused funds
from 2021 are able to be used in 2022 through 12/31/2022. Dependent Care
FSA dollars from 2022 will follow the previous grace period rules, which will
allow for you to submit claims through March 31, 2023 for expenses incurred
through March 15, 2023. You will lose any amount left in your 2022 account
on April 1, 2023. The IRS requires that this amount not be paid to you or
carried forward to the next year.
• If you leave AEO, your account will not continue and you will only be able
to submit expenses for the time frame in which you were employed by AEO.
You will have 90 days from your termination date to submit reimbursements.
After the 90-day period, your account will be closed.
How to Enroll
Enroll online (when enrolling for your health insurance coverage) prior to your
benefits effective date. You will then receive a complete packet of information from
Health Equity / WageWorks explaining how the plan works. If you have questions
prior to enrolling, you may call Health Equity / WageWorks at 1.877.924.3967. BUDGET
