GuardII+ EV Card Operation
Stator Current is used in the Stator Current Correlation Trigger; so, without that
operating condition, the Stator Current Correlation Trigger cannot occur.
IMPORTANT:
If this information is not provided, then the GuardII+ will provide basic
functionality; collecting and saving data based on time and vibration levels.
However, some of the advanced archiving features rely on the Operating
Condition data; for example, without the configuration telling the monitor
how to detect the operating point of the asset (i.e., Full Load Cold, Full
Load Hot or Reduced Load Hot), then any Triggers that rely on this
information simply can’t occur.
Note that the GuardII+ may be configured to read more Operating Conditions than the
Trigger Engine needs; this additional data is not used to qualify Triggers, but is stored with
the measurements and may provide additional measurement context when the EV data is
analyzed.
4.6.2. Raw Data vs. Summary Numbers
Most Triggers save raw data; this is time-domain data that was acquired from the analog-
to-digital converters; this allows for a more thorough post-analysis in IAM. Some of the more
‘routine’ Triggers that do not indicate a significant data pattern occurring only save the
summary numbers of the measurement; these are the results of the measurement analysis
rather than the full data.
The summary numbers for EV data include:
Summary Number Definition
Overall Acceleration This is the peak acceleration recorded at all
frequencies.
Overall Velocity This is the peak velocity recorded at all
frequencies.
Overall Displacement This is the peak-to-peak displacement
recorded at all frequencies.
Total Displacement This is the peak-to-peak displacement
recorded at all frequencies.
For linked sensors, this summary number
results from a vector analysis of 2 axes.
For sensors that are not linked, this summary
number will be the same as Overall
Displacement.
1x Displacement Amplitude This is the peak-to-peak displacement
recorded at the machine’s rotating
frequency.
1x Displacement Phase This is the phase difference recorded at the
machine’s rotating frequency.
2f Displacement Amplitude This is the peak-to-peak displacement
recorded at twice the machine’s operating
frequency.
