So, we’re not crazy. We know this is undeniably,
the worse possible time to say anything negative about
healthcare workers. So, we would like to include here
an excerpt from the previously released book, Thug
Preachers. This excerpt is not intended to offend
anyone. It is printed here for informational purposes
only. If you find it hard to believe I understand. I did
too… until I researched its validity.
It’s important for you to know that This excerpt
must be read with a full understanding that the
information here is not an implication of all medical
and health professionals. The vast majority of our men
and women in medicine are personally invested in, and
dedicated to the health and well-being of you and your
family. And, we thank them for their dedication.
Excerpt from my book, Thug Preachers:
One afternoon, while researching the spread of
disease and infections in hospitals, I came across a very
interesting article. It was a post by CNN Senior Medical
Correspondent, Elizabeth Cohen. According to this article,
Dr. Peter Pronovost, director of the Quality and Safety
Research Group at Johns Hopkins University, announced,
“About 100,000 people die each year from infections we
give them in the hospital.”
Dr. Pronovost went on to say, “About 65,000 of those
deaths are the result of infections from ventilators and
catheters.” Here’s how he breaks it down. There are about
5,000 hospitals in the United States. So, statistically, each
hospital in the United States gives these deadly infections
to one patient every month.
PBS TV broadcast journalist, Ray Suarez, joins the
growing list of town criers who, like Dr. Peter Pronovost,
are calling attention to this healthcare atrocity.
