• Cables and cords should never
extend into traffic areas.
• Do not overload electrical outlets. If
necessary, purchase a power strip or
surge suppressor made for use with
multiple appliances.
• An extension cord should be used
only to extend the position of the
electrical appliance.
• Power strips, cords, and other
components should be tucked into
the workstation's walls or behind
appliances.
• If cables must be installed in areas
where people walk, cover them with
materials intended for this purpose or
tape them down.
• Office equipment can be dangerous
if it is not operated properly.
• Keep the following safety procedures
in mind when you use office
equipment:
✓ Follow the manufacturer’s
directions for safe and efficient
equipment use.
✓ Avoid other activities that will
distract you from the operation of
the equipment.
