quacked at me. I laughed because it was funny. Soon it was time to

go home. I was tired but very happy. I had the best day at the park
                      with my family and friends!
                   2. Factual Recount

In August 2017, many people in the USA got to see a special

event in the sky - a total solar eclipse. The eclipse moved across the
country, blocking out the sun completely in some areas. As the
eclipse started, it got a little cooler outside. Then, for a short time, it

looked like night even though it was still daytime. The sun

disappeared behind the moon, and a faint glow called the corona
could be seen around the moon's edge. This amazing sight only
lasted a few minutes, but it left everyone who saw it feeling

impressed and surprised. The eclipse also helped scientists learn

                      more about the sun.

               Learning Evaluation

                   A. Formative Assessment
                          • Quick Quiz

                                 1. What is meant by recount text?
                                 2. Mention the three main parts of the recount text

                                     structure!
                                 3. Give an example of using the past tense in a sentence!

                          • Group Discussion
Students are divided into small groups, each group is given

one recount text to analyze. They must identify orientation,
events, and reorientation as well as the linguistic elements

                              used.
                   B. Summative Assessment

Students are asked to write a recount text about their holiday
experiences, covering all parts of the recount text structure

(orientation, events, reorientation) and using appropriate linguistic
elements. Students are asked to present the recount text they have

written in front of the class.
