MINUTES OF THE AFICS GENERAL ASSEMBLY

AFICS held its General Assembly on Thursday 8 June 2023 at the Centre de
Conférence de Varembé (CCV), Rue de Varembé 9, 1202 Geneva .

Invitations to attend were sent by e-mail and a reminder was published in the Bulletin.

Statistics: 102 members registered their interest at participating, of which 78
participated physically and one electronically.

After a welcoming coffee, the President welcomed the participants:

By emphasising the social side of this meeting.

Official guests were introduced:

• Giovanni Pizzini for the UNSMIS medical insurance
• Denise Gustin Gardella and Alan Blythe for the Pension Fund
• UNOG Director of Personnel, Natalya Myronenko, to resume relations with staff
after the difficult period of the pandemic.
• Naima Abdellaoui on behalf of the UNOG Union

The President thanked those present, who would enable AFICS to identify the needs
and expectations of retirees. She added that many members had also shown an interest
in the meeting.

She went on to thank the International Conference Centre for its hospitality and
support in preparing the meeting.

She concluded by thanking the Committee, the volunteers and FAFICS Secretary
Jay Sundaresan.

I Information was provided on the documents available for the second part of the
morning, namely the information session on informal care. Evelina Rioukhina,
Jocelyne Déruaz and Margarete Hahnen were commended for their work on this
project.

Members who would be following the meeting via ZOOM were welcomed. Pierre
Sayour was responsible for posting the necessary documents and manage
attendance via ZOOM.

The meeting was eld in French. All questions in English were also responded to. .

Attendees were asked to indicate their refusal to appear in photographs taken by
Doug Helland.

Natalya Myronenko confirmed support provided by the Administration with the
assistance of the new Director of Administration, Kira Kruglikova. She wished all
participants a good meeting.
