Bringing the Concept to Life
In this context, the Geneva Centre for Security Policy is an important
addition to the network of institutions and initiatives aimed at searching for the
most effective ways of achieving new collective security. Now more than ever it
is incumbent on all actors possessing the experience and the means to join
together in a coherent and cooperative manner.
My support for the Centre has been stated clearly. The commitment of the
Centre, UNIDIR, Member States and other such important players as the
ICRC makes me confident that, through vigilance and hard work, we will be
able to bring to reality the dream of a safer and more secure world.
