TRIBUTE TO PAULINE NICHOLLS

                                                 1936 – 2024

                                                                           By David HUME (WMO)

Pauline passed away peacefully on 18 September 2024.

She was a much-respected colleague of mine in WMO, where she spent many years as
a Secretary and Administrative Assistant in one of the scientific departments. She was
very open to new ideas, and was amongst the first to adopt new techniques with
enthusiasm, such as word processing and later on all the other functions of PCs.

After retiring, Pauline took an active part in the WMO Amicale, serving for some years
as its Secretary, for which I, as President at the time, was immensely grateful. She will
also be remembered as the organizer of the Nyon coffee mornings for many years,
enabling fellow retirees to keep in touch in a welcoming environment.

I must also stress that Pauline, particularly after retirement, was a prolific distributor of
amusing/interesting/quirky emails, which, I am sure, were gratefully received by those
            on her long mailing list!

                                                                      Revised by Patricia BEAUSSART
