Story and Photos ( uless otherwise noted) by JD and Cindy Damon

Believe it or not after working on these cars

for 40 years I had never been to England!
That changed in September when Cindy and I took a tour
put together by long time NBCC members Jeff and Jan
Zorn who operate the Little British Car Company. They
also vended at the NBCC show for many years as some of
                                you will remember.

Quite a few NBCC members have taken this same tour
and highly recommended it so we decided we would do it
in celebration of our 40th wedding anniversary in 2020
(but we all know how that year turned out? thanks to
COVID). Fortunately , the delay did not change the original
                                plans much.

Since the Zorn tour didn't spend any time in London we
opted to go a few days early and see some sights before
                                taking the tour.

Our overnight flight was late leaving Nashville but since
our appointment at the London Eye was for three o'clock
We're here! Standing in in the afternoon we had time to relax a bit before trying to
front of the Elizabeth figure out London's public transportation system to get to
Tower that houses Big Westminster. As it turns out the public transportation
Ben. system was a little too overwhelming and we got on the
wrong train which made us miss the appointment.

Oh well, tomorrow we will get this worked out for our
Thames River boat tour (spoiler alert we didn't!).
Took the wrong bus this time and while we were late to
the boat it was a hop-on hop-off tour so being a bit late
was no big deal. It was a great tour and a beautiful day so
we got off in Greenwich, found the most authentic looking
pub around (The Spanish Galleon), and sat down for some
                                proper fish and chips.
"Sorry we don't have that," said the barkeep. "We
                                                                                               "We remodeled our kitchen
remodeled our kitchen a few years ago and now we're
mostly vegan." a few years ago, and now
                                                                                               we're mostly vegan." Tofu
Somehow tofu and chips just didn't have the same appeal
                                                                                               and chips, anyone?
to me. Continues on page 12 image iStock
