The South East Vinery
This was restored as part of the 2000 restoration using a glulam beam structure.
The beams are rotting in sections and shoulld be repaired as should the rotting

This house has the distinction of being the
last glasshouse- in operation and it was
used, with some adaptation, until the 1960s
amid the neglect and abandonment of the
others. It measures internally 9.30m [30ft
6in] long by 4.30m [14ft 8in] broad. Some
sizeable trees occupy the interior. 4 of the

the roof are still in situ and these will be of
great help n any restoration. They rest on
buttresses. The back wall is 4.37m [14ft 6mj
ingn anu u.44-o 9in] thick and is built in
stone and was originally plastered. The low
south brick wall on the front of the house
has 8 arched openings at ground level for
the roots of the vines to grow outside in the
vinery border. Each arch has a span of

This is the twin of the other small corner
conservatory on the south west. It gave
access to the Palm House and the east
fernery and vinery and from the exterior. No
staging has survived but the floor is in good
condition.
