AMT INSTITUTE FOR EXCELLENCE (AMTIE)
Annual Business Meeting
July 4, 2019
Jeannie Hobson, RMA, RPT, AHI AMT President, called the 2019 AMTIE Business meeting to order at
9:00 am.
A motion to adopt the agenda with amendments was made by Paul Brown, second by Heather Herring.
Motion passed unanimously.
Deborah Westervelt, RMA, COLT, AMT Secretary, presented the meeting minutes from the July 5, 2018
AMTIE Annual Business Meeting located on page 3. A motion to approve minutes with amendments
was made by Chantel Jordan, RMA, CMAS, RPT (GA), seconded by Cecil Hunt, MT (MS). Motion passed
unanimously.
Ken Hawker, MT, AMT Treasurer, presented his report from page 5 of the Annual Business meeting
agenda materials. He explained that the audit report for both AMT and AMTIE were conducted by
Legacy Professionals, LLP for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2018 – located in a separate section of
the book. Ken explained that AMTIE continues to be on a financial course that will eventually render it
non-viable as a separate, independent entity. He referred members to page 19 of the Consolidated
Financial Statement (p. 40 of the Annual Meeting Agenda Materials). AMTIE’s total net assets as of
September 30, 2018 were $123,856 compared to $135,710 on September 30, 2017. This represents a
net decrease of $11,844 from the previous year.
Norma “Taffy” Durfee, MT (TX), Chair of the AMTIE Scholarship Committee, reported proceeds for the
one-day auction and head shots was over $3,000.
She congratulated the 2019 Cuviello Commitment to Excellence Award recipient, Alice Macomber, AHI,
RMA, RPT.
Taffy announced the Scholarship Award recipients as follows:
