                           Ariel Zilber

Ariel Zilber (born September 22nd 1943) is an Israeli singer, composer and
songwriter who became religious and a follower of ‘Chabad’ movement.
Following his activity in the popular rock band ‘Tamuz’, he had a diverse and
fascinating solo career. Zilber created Hebrew songs in genres of rock, pop,
hip-hop, Arab music and Ethiopian music.
Zilber was wounded in the Yom Kippur war and lost his leg, but now he
continues to dance and jump using a prosthesis. He also always
volunteers to cheer up wounded soldiers and demonstrates for them that
it is not the end of the world to lose a leg.
Over the course of his long career Zilber released many albums in which he
sang about love, relationships, Judaism, politics etc. Zilber’s songs are very
personal and in them he expresses his personal opinions on matters that
interest him. One of his big hits is the song “Run, Shmulik” which was
released in 1976.
