Yaakov Gilad
Yaakov Gilad (born February 24th 1951) is an Israeli songwriter and musical
producer.
Gilad wrote songs for several artists in the seventies. Later he met Yehuda
Poliker and the two began working together for most of Poliker’s solo albums
as well. following a program on ‘Galey Tzahal’ in which Poliker and Gilad
took part, which dealt with the second generation to the holocaust and
included two original songs they wrote, the album “Ashes and Dust” was
released in 1988. This album, which is considered by music critics to be a
masterpiece, dealt with the feelings of Gilad and Poliker as “second
generation to the holocaust”, children who grew up under holocaust-survivor
parents in Israel of the fifties and sixties.
