This curriculum is based on the following Ulpan-Or® study kits and publications:
1. Kita Alef (units 4-7) – introduction to useful vocabulary in a structured way (brief
review of the initial chapters and focus on the more advanced material). Topics
covered: numbers, time, places, shopping and use of important prepositions and
conjugations.
2. Verbs & Grammar – Basic level (focus on infinitives of Piel, Hif'eel, Hitpael, Nif'al)
3. My Hebrew Songs (Beginner Level)
4. Ulpan-Or's Interactive Newspaper – E-Tone®
After completing this course, students usually acquire the necessary active vocabulary of some
400-500 words and expression for everyday conversations and improve reading and writing
skills. They are able to orient themselves in Hebrew, conduct basic day-to-day conversations and
recognize the fundamental structures of Hebrew and its basic forms.
• Comprehension: Understanding short stories and recorded conversations.
• Conversation: Simple dialogues and stories from everyday life.
• Reading: Easy dialogues and passages with and without vowels; headlines and texts in
easy Hebrew .
• Writing: Short dialogues and passages on the topics taught.
• Grammatical Skills: Elementary syntactic and grammatical structures, cover all five main
verb groups in their infinitive forms.
