The Junior School’s major musical production for 2019 was the much-loved classic The Wizard of Oz (Young
Performers’ Edition, by arrangement with Origin Music). Directed, choreographed and costumed by Mr. John
Forbes (teacher of our Year 5/6 Performing Arts class), this production featured the talents of more than 70 students
from Years 2 to 6, including working as backstage crew, costume making and props.
Mrs. Julie Cooney was Musical Director and accompanist for each rehearsal and performance.
Lead roles were performed by: Allegra Dunning (Dorothy), Ruby Gale (Glinda, The Good Witch of the North),
Margaret Vivian (The Wicked Witch of the West), Montagu Darwin (Scarecrow), Rohan Glinn (Tin Man), Zara
Perisce-Burrell (Lion), James Reynolds (The Wizard), Isabel Dolbel (Toto), Sophia Huckel (Aunty Em), and
Nicholas Roberson (Uncle Henry).
