IPSHA FESTIVAL
In August, students in Years 4 to 6 attended the annual Independent Primary School Heads Association (IPSHA)
Festival, which provides our choir and orchestra with the opportunity to join with fellow students from other
independent schools to perform in the inspiring and iconic Sydney Town Hall.
The concert commenced with a stunning performance by a combined orchestra, including a number of our own
musicians, followed by each school’s individual items.
Our Choir entertained the appreciative audience with renditions of Siya Hamba and Where the Lost Things Go
before joining in a massed choir with all other participating schools.
The grand Finale was a stirring performance of Oye la Musica conducted by our own Mr Forbes (Year 5/6F
Performing Arts Class teacher) and accompanied by Mrs Cooney (Music teacher) for a joyous and celebratory
conclusion to the evening.
BLUE MOUNTAINS CHORAL AND INSTRUMENTAL CELEBRATION
In October, it was our pleasure to host
for the first time the Upper Mountains
Independent Schools’ Choral and
Instrumental Celebration and join
with our friends from Kindlehill, Our
Lady of the Nativity and St Canice’s in
a day of workshops and rehearsals for
vocalists and instrumentalists.
In addition to performing individual
school items, the choirs of all four
schools came together in a massed
choir, as did the instrumentalists, who
formed a united orchestra.
The busy day’s program culminated
in an uplifting and joyous evening
concert for all parents and staff.
