LESSON PLAN
TEACHER: POMPILIA MARALOIU
Class: 10 B
Lesson: CULTURES
Level: elementary
Aims: (by the end of the lesson, students will be able to):
-practise using the Present Simple and the Present Continuous
-read sentences and be able to order them while viewing the activities.
-talk about things they are doing at the present.
-differentiate the uses of the tenses.
Language Focus: vocabulary/formation rules for the present continuous.
Timetable Fit:
In the previous lesson, the students have learnt about holidays and
how to write a postcard.
In the next lesson, pupils will talk about life in the UK.
Aids: textbook, blackboard, cassette, cassette player, handouts, video-projector,
Anticipated Problems: Some students may not understand at first the difference
between tenses due to the fact that they are used to only one present tense, therefore this
distinction might be hard to understand.
Solution to the anticipated problem: Ss need a lot of awareness-raising activities and
meaningful practice where the choice of the form depends on the context.
Assumptions: The Ss already handle a satisfying level of language in order to
accomplish the requests of the lesson.
