Dutch Military Aggression I was a

massive attack launched by the

Netherlands against the territory of

the Republic of Indonesia in 1947. This

attack occurred because the

Netherlands was not satisfied with

the results of the Linggajati

Agreement and continued to demand

things that were detrimental to
DUTCH
DUTCH Indonesia. The Dutch violated the

agreement by launching a surprise
MILITARY
MILITARY
attack, forcing Indonesia to return to

the war to defend independence. This
AGGRESSION I
AGGRESSION I aggression triggered a strong

international reaction. Eventually,

under worldwide pressure, the Dutch

were forced to stop their attack and

accept an armistice. 28
