Constituents :
1- Pungent principle capsaicin located in dissepiment.
2- Red coloring matter capsanthin located in mesocarp.
3- Flavonoids, fixed oil and proteins.
4- Ascorbic acid.
Uses :
1- Externally: as rubefacient and counter irritant in the form of ointment.
2- Internally : as stomachic in dyspepsia.
