* Crude fiber determination.
Extractive value
• Extractive value is used as a means of evaluating drugs
when the constituents of which are not readily
estimated by other means.
• But when suitable assays are available
• (e.g. with anthraquinone – containing drugs) the
extractive dtermivations are not applicable as
pharmacopoeial standard.
