   Imp Drug interactions

     • Aspirin potentiates the anticoagulant effect of oral
        …………….s and heparin due to its antiplatelet effect so
        increase risk of bleeding (Doses must be adjusted).

     • Aspirin and other NSAIDs decrease renal elimination of
        methotrexate and displace it from plasma protein binding
        site.

     • Salicylate increases hypoglycemic effect of
        sulphonylureas.

     • Corticosteroids decrease salicylates clearance in case of
        long term, high dose salicylate therapy.

     • Several NSAIDs antagonize antihypertensive effect of
        several drugs including: diuretics, ACE inhibitors and B-
        blockers.

     • Several NSAIDs increase serum level of digoxin.
     • Concurrent use of NSAIDs and quinolones may increase

        effects, including seizures.
