Hypodermis; thick-walled, pitted and lignified sclerenchyma
The corolla:
Outer epidermis: subrectangular cells with wavy walls and striated
cuticle.
Inner epidermis; thin-walled polygonal cells, papillosed.
Compositous glandular, hairs are present especially on the tubular
part. Few Ca oxalate clusters are present in the mesophyll.
Ovary:
It has a sclerous ring at the base and the wall is composed of
elongated epidermal cells showing Compositous glandular hairs in
rows. The cells at the apex of the stigma show long papillae.
