Powdered German chamomile (1gm) is extracted with 15ml of
chloroform, the chloroform extract is concentrated , add 2 drops of
glacial acetic/phosphoric acid (1:1) and heat on water bath, a green
colour is produced.

Uses:
The medicinal uses of German chamomile are attributed to the
essential oil contents of chamazulene and -bisabolol.
1- Dry extract of chamomile is used as antiphlogistic,
antiallergenic, anti-inflammatory and ulcer protective with
low toxicity.
