Constituents: sympathomimetic alkaloid (p-synephrine) as the main active
compound involved in weight-loss. Citrus flavonoids (naringenin) ,
Furocoumarins, and essential oil components

       Hoodia:

Species (Family): Hoodia gordonii (Asclepiadaceae)
Part(s) Used: Stem
Constituents: Glycosides known as the hoodigosides, and steroidal
glycosides,. The active constituent is often referred to as P57 which is an
oxypregnane glycoside of hoodigogenin) and is responsible for the appetite
suppressant effect.
