Type-VII (Tarui’s Disease)
• It results from deficiency of the glycolytic enzyme
phospho-fructokinase (PFK) in the muscle and
erythrocytes.
• Impairs the ability of cells such as RBC’s and skeletal
muscle cells to use glucose for energy.
