Hb + O2 → HbO2

2. Reduced Hemoglobin (HHb)
Oxy-hemoglobin moves to the tissue where the partial
pressure of O2 is 26 mm of Hg due to which oxygen is
released into the tissues and in turn H+ binds to Hb and
forms reduced hemoglobin.
HbO2 + H+ → HHb + O2

3. Carbaminohemoglobin

Hemoglobin also binds to CO2 in the tissues. CO2 is
bound to the α-amino group at the N-terminal end of
each of the four polypeptide chains of hemoglobin to
form carbaminohemoglobin. As one CO2 binds O2 is
released.
