Ocimene
Source:
oil of Ocimum basilicum. ( اﻟرﯾﺣﺎنBasil)
Uses:
- Perfume industries.
- Flavoring agent in pharmaceutical products, shampoo, toothpaste
soaps and cosmetics.
Myrcene
Source: Oil of hops, bay (Laurus nobilis)
Uses: - The tendency of myrcene to polymerize has been used to
some extent industrially in the preparation of rubber-like polymers
and co-polymers. It has a pleasant odor, but is rarely used in the
perfumery industry, as it is unstable in air and tending to polymerize.
- Myrcene has an analgesic effect.
2- Monocyclic monoterpene hydrocarbons:
Monocyclic monoterpenes is subdivided into:
(1) p-menthane. (the larger group)
