Sylvestrene

Source: Swedish pine needle oil (‫)زﯾت اﻟﺻﻧوﺑر‬.
It is the only natural monocyclic monoterpene which has the m-menthane
structure.

Uses: Flavoring agent in pharmaceutical preparations and cosmetics.
Racemic mixture of dl-(±) Sylvestrene, known as Carvestrene.

3- Bicylic monoterpene hydrocarbons:
Composed of two condensed rings perpendicular on each other. Divided
into class according to the size of the second ring:
Class l. (6 + 3 membered ring):
