Lesson 9: What is the Sikh Greeting?
People of all cultures greet differently when they
meet each other for the first time in a day. In
America, people say “Hello! Hi! or Good Morning!”
Sikhs have many ways to greet
each other. A short form of
Sikh Greeting is “Sat Sri
Akaal”. It means “Waheguru is
the truth”.
When we meet someone, we
fold our hands, and say, Sat
Sri Akaal Ji”. Many times we
hug each other after saying
Sat Sri Akaal!
Color the Greeting siq sRI Akwl.
