Lesson 16: What should you do when you go inside
a Gurdwara?
As you enter the Gurdwara main hall, you should:
1. Fold your hands in front of you.
Walk straight up to the stage
where Palki Sahib is. Palki Sahib is
the seat of Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
2. When you reach in front of the
stage, put the money in the Golak-
the money box. Matha Teko with
respect by touching your forehead
and both palms on the ground.
3. After Matha Teko to Guru Sahib,
walk around to do Parikarma of
Guru Sahib. Walk clockwise and
Guru Granth Sahib will be on your
right.
4. After the Parikarma, get Parshaad in cupped hands
and take a napkin to wipe your hands.
5. Sit quietly in the Diwan Hall and
listen to Gurbani Keertan. You may
eat Parshaad while listening to
