Lesson 18: What are Langar Etiquettes?

Langar is the blessed food we get in a Gurdwara. Sikhs

           serve free Langar to anyone

           who comes to Gurdwara.

           They even make Langar and

take it to feed the hungry

           people. Anyone who comes

           to Gurdwara can eat Langar.

           Like Gurdwara, Langar also

has its own set of rules or etiquettes which everyone

should follow, when they go to Langar.

Before you enter the Langar hall:

              1. Remove shoes and socks

              2. Wash your hands

              3. Cover your head

           Inside the Langar Hall,

➢ Always sit in the Pangat

➢ Do Naam Simran while Langar is being served

➢ Take only as much food, as you can eat at that

time so that you do not waste any food.

➢ Finish your food and after eating, put the dishes

                      in proper place.
