Kuldip Kaur Pahwa
My name is Kuldip Kaur Pahwa. My
two daughters Sonia Kaur
Kandhari & Rosy Kaur Pahwa
participated in the Sri Hemkunt
speech competition as children in
the 90s. It gave them confidence
and a connection to their Sikhi.
I’m so glad we had the program
for them to participate in and to
see my daughters now pass Sikhi
down to their children.
I have continued to help with the
annual Hemkunt Foundation since
1994 and it’s a pleasure to see
young children continue to
participate.

Inderjit Kaur
I have been in the USA since November 1994. I feel blessed to have the
opportunity to assist with the Hemkunt Foundation speech competition.
Sometimes, I served as a judge, and other times, I helped participants
write their speeches and incorporate Gurbani quotes.
Both of my sons, Gaganpreet Singh and Gurpreet Singh, participated in
the speech competition around 1995 and performed very well. Now in
2024, Gurpreet’s daughter (my granddaughter) Aleena Singh is going to
participate in the speech and Keertan competition at the international
level. We are extremely proud of the Hemkunt Foundation & Guru Nanak
Khalsa School San Jose organizers for spreading Sikhism through these
participants and providing them with extensive knowledge about their
religion, especially here in the US, where they have limited exposure. Mrs. Inderjit Kaur
