Hi, my name is Bandana Kaur. I had the
opportunity to participate in the Hemkunt speech

competition in the 90's from middle school
through high school. It was a great opportunity
for me to learn about Sikh history and our Guru's
as a young adult. Having the confidence to speak
in front of an audience has been a great
advantage as well. It has helped me throughout
my life from school projects and presentations to

now being a vocal part of my children's school in
the PTA.

Both my kids Sevak Singh, age 11 and Jeevna Kaur,
age 8 have been participating in Hemkunt for the
past 2 years. I feel so blessed that my kids along

with so many other Sikh youths have the
opportunity to participate in this program. They
learn something new every year and the
confidence they are building is invaluable.
