Dr. Gagandeep Singh
Under the divine blessings of Waheguru Ji, Dr. Gagandeep Singh
embarked on his journey in Gurmat Sangeet following his completion
of high school. Fueled by his passion and interest in Gurbani and
Kirtan, he pursued a music degree from Guru Nanak Dev University
Amritsar. During this time, he found inspiration in the dedication of
Dr. Gurnam Singh Ji towards Gurmat Sangeet. Driven by his
aspirations, he pursued a post-graduation in Gurmat Sangeet from
Punjabi University, Patiala, and eventually completed his PhD in the
same field under the guidance of the esteemed Dr. Gurnam Singh Ji,
whom he feels fortunate to be a disciple of.
He has actively participated in numerous conferences at both
national and international levels, where he has been recognized and honored with prestigious gold
medals for his Shabad Gayan. He taught Gurmat Sangeet in Los Angeles, California from 2014 to 2020.
Currently, he resides in Sacramento, California, and is teaching students worldwide. He has organized
numerous workshops, competitions, and camps focused on promoting Gurmat Sangeet to the younger
generation. He also had the privilege of performing at Sri Darbar Sahib and various Kirtan Darbars in
the U.S., India, Canada, etc.
Dr. Gagandeep Singh wishes to preserve and spread the essence of Gurmat Sangeet.
Nirmal Singh Soora
Nirmal Singh Soora started learning Keertan at a tender age of 11
years in 1965. In 1985, he obtained the degree of Sangeet Parbahkar
in first division from Prayag Sangeet Samitee in Allahabad, India. He
made his own Jathaa and served as Hazoori Ragi at Sis Ganj
Gurdwara Sahib in Delhi from 1983-1988. After moving to the USA, he
served at the Sikh Gurdwara Sahib San Jose from 1989-1999. He has
been teaching Keertan to the children at the Guru Nanak Khalsa
School, San Jose since 2014. He also served as a Judge in the
regional Keertan Darbar in Western North region previously in 2015
and again now in 2024.
