Khalsa Lakhvir Singh Group 1 Judge
Based in the beautiful East African country of Kenya where I have
grown up, studied, lived and worked since the last 40 years. I pursue
not one, but three professional vocations - seasoned graphic designer,
a committed Sikh preacher and a passionate historian.
Designer
With over twenty five years of collective experience in the advertising,
design, branding, media and creative industries, I most recently served
as the Visual Editor-in-Chief at Radio Africa Group, a leading media
house based in Nairobi, Kenya. I also take great interest in developing
other skills that come naturally to me - photography, writing, historical research and motivational
speaking. All these skills add up to realize my ultimate potential in creative expression for both self and
for the professionals that I always seek to affiliate with.
Sikh Preacher
I am a passionate Sikh motivational speaker, lecturer and writer who has been serving the local Sikh
Gurdwaras and wider Sikh community in Kenya for over 20 years in various religious activities.
My visionary outlook is to help Sikhs and non-Sikhs alike across the world in understanding Sikhi through
the message of Gurbani and how to apply it in their everyday lives. This is being done through my social
media platforms and speaking at Gurdwaras, institutions and forums that avail the opportunity to reach
out directly to the masses. My strengths of proficiency in Punjabi, Hindi, Swahili and English help me to
stand out in today’s need to reach out to peoples of all demographics who can understand Sikhi and its
history in the language of their preference to better their knowledge of the Sikh faith.
Historian
I am also an independent historian who researches and publishes the history of Sikhs in Kenya - and
Africa in general - in an effort to help the masses understand who the Sikhs are in relation to
historical context. My various social media pages command a following in their thousands as I regularly
and consistently publish informative Sikh and historical content, drawing conversations from a
cosmopolitan audience who take keen interest to learn from my posts. Additionally, I am also a budding
publisher with my own inspirational books, magazines and other educational material getting ready for
print.
