Soni Singh

Gurmat Sangeet has always been a part of
Soni's life; before she could yet speak, Soni
used to hum along with Asa Di Vaar.

Her Nani ji is the daughter of the renowned

poet, musician, and instrument-maker, Giani
Gian Singh Almast ji and has taught her many
of their bandishaan.

Soni sings Kirtan and plays a myriad of Saaz -
including strings, such as Dilruba, and she has
previously both participated in and judged
Kirtan competitions.

Soni hopes to cultivate the art of Gurmat
Sangeet, by instill this value in her kids,

Sangeet Singh and Malaar Singh. She looks
forward to their participation in future
Hemkunt Speech and Kirtan competitions.

A proud alumna of the Hemkunt Speech Competition, Soni is thankful to give back to an organization

that has provided much opportunity to us all for decades and wishes the participants the best of luck
in evoking Guru ji's Universal message - “Bhalo Bhalo Re Kirtaniya”
