                   demonstrate that sustainability and performance are
                   not opposing ideas.                                        SUN WORSHIPPERS. The fact that SolarCity maintained
                   Ford 27.5%                                                 its 2016 brand position as our leading environmental
                                                                              stewardship-oriented brands reflects the national
                                                                              embrace of solar power, despite anti-solar politics at the
                                                                              federal level. But kudos should also go to companies
                                                                              such as LG and Owens Corning, who managed to hit the
                                                                              top five with products that are not by definition green.
                                                                              Their commitment to sustainability resonates with green
                                                                              professionals. The field is still broad and flat. No brand
                                                                              achieved 10 percent or more. Perhaps that’s how it
                                                                              should be. A building contains thousands of parts. All
                                                                              brands fit together to create a sustainable structure.
