Web Applications Desktop Integrator. Web ADI brings Oracle E-Business Suite functionality
to the desktop where the familiar Microsoft Excel application can be used to submit journal
entries to the system.
Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC)
A calculation of a firm's cost of capital, used to discount future cash flows to today. WACC is
the average after tax cost of all sources of financing, including both debt and equity. The
cost of debt and the cost of equity are weighted based on the firm’s capital structure to
estimate WACC. All else being equal, a company with a high WACC will have a lower
valuation for the same cash flows.

Abbreviation used to refer to our affiliate office in Weston, Massachusetts
WFPlan
Census planning by employee including benefits, salary and EBC. Results feed into PlanFcst
application.
White Blood Cells (WBC)
Cells of the immune system that help protect the body from infectious disease. The number
of white blood cells in the blood is often an indicator of disease.
Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
A hierarchical and incremental division of a project into phases and deliverables.
Work Instruction (WI)
A document containing detailed instructions that specify what steps to follow to carry out an
activity.

Workforce Expense
All costs associated with Biogen’s workforce (Permanent & Temporary). This includes the
costs of recruiting, compensating and enabling our workforce. Also included here are the
costs of internally-focused Meetings (i.e. Departmental, POA, etc.) and internally-focused
Trainings (i.e. MAXA, Leadership Institute).
