                  Footnote
An aerial photograph of Preekstoel, Kleinmond (34.3463 S, 19.0351 E, see locality 7 on map on p. 187) taken in 2023 showed 65 Cape
Fur Seals hauled out on this near-shore, small, rocky island. There was no evidence of breeding. Earlier, BM Dyer (in litt.) noted 30–40
seals at Preekstoel on 20 January 2012. This brings to 37 the known number of localities in South Africa at which Cape Fur Seals have
bred or regularly hauled out. Four species of cormorant have bred at Preekstoel (see p. 190).
