In mid-January 2024, two breeding pairs of Damara Terns, and possibly a third, were recorded at Uubvlei (28.405 S, 16.245 E),
a previously un-surveyed site approximately 31 km north of the Orange River mouth (Jenkins A and van Zyl A. in litt.
to PAW). Uubvlei brings the total number of known breeding sites in Namibia to 58 and becomes the southernmost
recorded breeding locality in this country.
