For the purposes of this presentation we will limit the injuries to the most common and preventable:

• Ocular

• Other

• Death

Ocular Injuries

NIH Study 2006

• 2.4 Million eye injuries occur each year as a
result of trauma
• Toy guns referred to as AirSoft are becoming
increasingly responsible.
• It is important to note that the NIH referred
to AirSoft guns as “Toys” - They are not
toys.

• The NIH states that the potential for ocular
injury from Airsoft guns is great and protective
equipment such as protective eyewear should
be considered mandatory during operation.
• Protective eyeware alone is inadequate.
